Life at Markaplassen Skole

Reception

Students have class from 8,15 to 14,15h. They have lunch at school but in Markaplassen skole they don't have a cantine so students just bring a sandwich or something to eat during the second break (11:35h to 12:40h) . As most European countries, they will have dinner around 18h at home!
THis is a typical Schedule... There are two groups at the same time since there are two classes together separated by pannels of glass and sometimes they join.

The number of students is not much lower than in Spain... They are around 25-28 and can even reach 30, so they have the same "ratio" problems...

Teachers also teach more hours than us, around 24hours per week and have a lot of burocracy too.
When a teacher is missing suddenly, they manage as they can...there are not "profesores de guardia" but when they know it in advance they call for a substitution even if it is only for one day.

Teachers are not really civil servants, they have an interview with the principal...
...
I attended some classes with Alex, Spanish and English teacher... It was not allowed to take pictures of students, that's why they don't appear on the photograps...

Tables for working in groups

New Technologies in the classroom. They can use laptops from the school, although they don't always work properly...

Modern PDI and Projectors

When school time finish students put their chairs on the tables

And just a last observation: students behaviour was not much better than ours!! Some teachers told me that there is now a debate about increase discipline.

During Break Time, teachers in change of looking after students wear this top.
